Nowadays people are getting used to the solar rattan lanterns in the market, they can see and buy and enjoy many different types of solar rattan lanterns in different stores or in internet to decorate their gardens, and they do not see anything special. However, things were quite different 11 years ago.

Before the year 2011, in the market you could only see some rattan lanterns as above shown pictures. The characters of them were as below:
1). The materials were ------ real wooden, or real willows / wickers / rattans, or real bamboos, which were not really suitable for outdoor use;
2). The production methods were ------ The workers fixed the lanterns by nails, or by gluing, or by small rope wrapping around… which took more time and costed more money;
3). The shapes / styles / colors were limited, and the products were not so durable;

Ever since 2010, we started to investigate this project, and we spent nearly two years studying / designing / proto-sampling / trying / testing / improving in many different ways, trying to achieve a better way to make Solar Rattan Lanterns with better looking, in different shaped / figures, easier producing in mass manufacturing, and with natural and quality finish, durable in use, and suitable for outdoor use…

Finally we succeeded, and we got it
a). We used a few different plastic vertical ribs, and each rib is with many different wells / gaps, and then we fix the vertical ribs onto the upper plastic cap and the plastic base part.
b). And then we selected the correct diameter plastic rattan (using special extrusion technique, looks like the real natural rattan), to weave around the different wells/gaps on the different vertical ribs closely and manually, and then the nice shape / figure would be formed;
c). In order to make it look even better and natural, we made the upper plastic part with the textures effect of rattan;
d). We added plastic candle on the base part of the lantern;
e). We added Solar Puck on the upper part of the lantern, and flickering amber LED light will spot onto the surface of the plastic candle, making you feel the candle is burning;
f). To make the solar rattan lanterns more options of use, we added flat plastic-rattan as a handle. Therefore, it’s portable, and can hang it for use as well;

And of course, before succeeding, we met many different challenges / difficulties, and we found the solutions and overcame them one by one.

And then many different classic shapes of our solar rattan lanterns were born, and at different sizes, with different finish / colors. Solar Candles

Question: where is the solar panel ? how is charge ?
Answer: It is inside the candle. You could just put this solar candles under sunlight. It would charge automatically.

Question: Does this candle really safe to use outdoor ?
Answer: Extremely safe, indoors or out! There is no flame, and the plastic item doesn’t even get warm. This is a great way to get the effect of candles around kids or pets.

Question: Do I need to turn off the solar candles when they charge with sunlight ?
Answer: No, let the solar candles stay on all the time. But I suppose if you wanted to store the charge, rather than have it automatically turn on at dusk, you could turn it off before it turns on automatically.

Question: How long could this solar candle stay lit when full charged ?
Answer: 6-8 hours

Question: Can they be outdoor use?
Answer: Yes, IP44

Question: Does the flame actually move? Or does the light just flicker?
Answer: There isn’t a flame in these. Just the inside glows

Battery Operated Candles

Question: What are these made of? Are these candles made of real wax?
Answer: The led plastic candles are made of high quality plastic which is sun-resistant, cold-resistant and non-toxic. So just enjoy these waterproof outdoor led candles, they are suit for summer outdoor garden decorations, halloween decorations, or indoor living room decoration etc.

Question: Do these led plastic candles come with batteries in them already?
Answer: No,but if you need, we can ship them with batteries.

Question: How to get the timer to work for these led plastic candles?
Answer: 1.Slide the switch to the “ Timer” position to activate the timer and turn the candle on. The candle will automatically turn off after 5 hours.
2.The following day, if the switch setting have not been modified, the candle will automatically turn on at the same time that it was set on the previous day, and then will turn off after 5 hours.
3. To change the starting time, slide the switch from the “OFF” position to the “TIMER” position at the desired start time.

Question: How does the solar light operate?
Answer: During the day the solar panel converts sunlight to an electrical current that charges the battery in your solar light. A sensor that is located in the solar panel detects the sunlight and prevents the light operating during daylight. At night the energy stored in the battery powers the LED to provide illumination.

Question: How many hours this solar lantern will light up at night?
Answer: The solar light will normally illuminate for 6‐8 hours during the night after full charged. The shorter hours of daylight during Winter or overcast cloudy conditions can reduce the amount of charge that the battery receives and hence reduce operating hours.

Question: What kind of battery this solar lantern needed if I want to replace old batteries?
Answer: Replace with a new AA size 1.2V Ni Cad or Mi‐MH rechargable battery (mAh)

Answer: These Solar Iron Lanterns are with solar candles. The solar panel is inside the candle. You could just put this solar candles under sunlight. It would charge automatically.

Question: Is these solar Iron Lanterns metal or plastic?
Answer: The main part is Metal and the solar candle is plastic.

Question：Do they include batteries and how many are needed per lantern?
Answer: Yes, they are include batteries, and each lantern with 1 AA or AAA battery.

Question：Can these solar Iron Lanterns be left outside in the rain?
Answer: Yes, These Solar Iron lanterns are made of high-quality iron, and has IP44 waterproof grade, which can withstand sunny, rain and other kinds of weather conditions.

Question：Can the candles be replaced?
Answer: Yes. Remove the solar candles by unscrewing the screws on the lanterns, and then replace a new solar candle. There’s only one candle in the lanterns, customer have to purchase another solar candle to replace.

Question：How to intall the solar pendant light?
Answer: Intall the “ S” hook on the wire. The drop height can be adjusted with the hanging hook included. Using the cilp (included）to attach the solar panel to a gazebo. Ensure the solar panel can receive a full 8 hours of sunlight to allow the rechargeable battery to reach maximum capacity.

Question：Regarding Solar Pendant Light: 1) how long is cable between the solar panel and the lamp? 2) how long is the expandable cord for hanging the lamp (minumum and maximum)?
