Why are solar lights with batteries?

For solar lights, the batteries are usually included, and they are the rechargeable batteries. As the solar panel is just there to charge your solar batteries, which it does by absorbing solar energy from the sun during daylights hours and passing that power as electrical energy along to the battery, where it gets converted and stored as chemical energy and then changed back to an electrical output when you want to turn your lights on.  If you want to purchase the new batteries to replace after 1.5 to 2 years of using, you should buy the same specification rechargeable batteries, while the regular batteries (not rechargeable ones) cannot do this job.

Is the solar panel on my Solar Garden Light weatherproof?

Yes, the solar panels are really only ever used outside, and solar lights are designed for outdoor use, it’s weatherproof surely.
