  FAQ  

Q1. Can the lantern be opened to access the inside?  I'd like to add colored stones inside the lantern to weigh them down.

A: Yes, that is possible. You can just open the hinged door and weigh the lantern down.

Q2. Are the sides glass?  If they fell would it shatter?

A: For some lanerns, yes, the sides are made of real glass and could break if not handled properly although these lanterns are both sturdy and stunning. And for some other lanterns, they are designed to be without any glass, therefore, just no need to worry about that.

Q3. Do Solar Lanterns have to be under direct sun light? My front porch receives the late afternoon sun. Will they still lit in cloudy or rainy season?

A: The lanterns are entirely powered by the sun. Each night, the lanterns will be lit until they run out of power, and then spend all day charging back up. To get a full charge, they need about 6-8 hours of direct sunlight. Less sun or indirect sun will mean less power to light the lantern in the evenings, but they'll still light up for a time.

Q4. Could I hang the lantern?

A: Yes, you can.  But please make sure there's enough sunshine to reach the lanterns.

Q5. Would these need to be moved out of direct sunlight during the very hot summer? Could they potentially get too hot causing them to melt a little or become warped?

A: Good question!  The Lanterns are made of real metal and durable resin and are designed to be out in the direct sun.

Q6. Is the candle removable? (can you replace the candle with a different one)

A: Yes, it is removable, and can be replaced with a new one.

Q7. How do we charge the battery?

A: These lanterns are solar-powered so you just leave the lanterns (switch should be turned ON) in the sun for 6-8 hours and then it'll be fine.

Q8: My lantern turns off when I put my light on,  how can I get it to stay on?

A: These lanterns have light sensors that tell them when to charge and when to produce light. There isn't a great way to have a solar light ON when there is other light shining on it. You can cover the solar panel but I think a better solution might be to use battery-powered lanterns instead of solar-powered.

Q9: How many lumens is this lantern? You have to have a measurement.

A: The lantern is decorative so we don't measure it in lumens sorry.  It's bright enough to see from a distance but you wouldn't want to try to read by it.

Q10: Are the lanterns waterproof?  Can you keep them outside without cover?

A: The lanterns are weather-resistant and designed to be outside all year. Just make sure they are placed somewhere with good drainage- they shouldn't sit in a puddle and obviously you should take them in during extreme weather like hurricanes.

Q11: Can these be left out in the rain?
